Make The First Family Trip to Rusutsu, Hokkaido! A Natural Resort Perfect for Preschoolers
Located about 90 minutes by car from New Chitose Airport and Sapporo. Shuttle bus services are also available, making travel with small children comfortable. In the refreshing summer climate, enjoy a wide range of family-friendly entertainment at one of Hokkaido’s largest resort hotels—nature activities, amusement park, pool, fireworks festival, and even a maze of lights.
Play freely in Hokkaido’s breathtaking nature and fresh air!
Rusutsu Resort offers a variety of activities to fully experience Hokkaido’s great outdoors. Ride the gondola from the amusement park to the mountaintop. The vast, scenic view of Hokkaido will leave a lasting impression on your child. From the summit, enjoy the stunning sight of Mt. Yotei—also known as “Ezo Fuji”—and shout “Yoo-hoo!” into the mountains. During summer vacation, operating hours are extended so you can even enjoy the sunset.
Fun from Age 3! Summer Vacation Exclusive Activities
During summer break, children can enjoy special seasonal activities such as hot-air balloon flights, kids rafting, and fishing starter. Watching them take on challenges in nature can make them seem braver than usual. Popular activities like rafting often fill up early, so advance reservations are recommended.
Pool Debut! Outdoor Super Jumbo Pool
The outdoor Super Jumbo Pool opens during the summer vacation period. Even infants and toddlers can join in if they wear swim diapers under their swimsuits. A shallow pool with water depth around 30cm (about knee height for adults) is perfect for young children’s first water play. Great for beach ball games or practicing swimming. The fountain pool is also a popular spot for lots of splashing fun. Float rentals and beach ball sales are available, and of course, you’re welcome to bring your own favorite float.
Everyone Loves the Amusement Park! Fun from Morning Till Night!
Rusutsu is home to one of Hokkaido’s premier amusement parks! It features roller coasters, go-karts, “Kids’ Land” with attractions for young children, “Ruth & Moose Forest” with a white sandbox and educational toys, and a “Graffiti Ground” for drawing fun. Since the hotel is directly connected to the amusement park, families can play to their heart’s content all day long.
Full Lineup of Summer Vacation Events!
Beat the summer heat with the “Fluffy Bubble Festival” featuring a giant bubble-blowing machine, or take on thrilling missions in the “Amusement Park Treasure Hunt,” a real mystery-solving adventure while exploring the park. In the “Fluffy Kids Land” area, enjoy shows including pantomime, magic, and character performances.
Plenty of Fun Even at Night
09/08(Sat) – 16/08(Sat), the popular “Nighttime Amusement Park” returns for the first time in six years. On select dates, a stunning “Summer Vacation Special Fireworks Festival” launches about 1,200 fireworks right after the park closes—an enchanting and dynamic spectacle!
After the fireworks, head to the front of Rusutsu Resort Hotel to enjoy a magical world of lights. A projection mapping show themed on the folklore of the indigenous Ainu people of Hokkaido, followed by a dazzling “Light Maze,” will make your night truly unforgettable. Spend exciting evenings filled with entertainment, only at Rusutsu Resort.
Meet Friendly Animals at the Sheep Land
A short walk from the hotel takes you to Sheep Land, where weekend and holiday events like “Sheep Petting” and “Sheep Dog Show” are held. Nearby, you’ll find mini-horses and large horses at the horseback riding area, offering a pastoral, Hokkaido-style experience and memorable moments for your trip.
