Hokkaido’s Rusutsu Resort, operated by Kamori Kanko (headquartered in central, Sapporo; President: Hisatake Kamori), has been awarded “Japan’s Best Ski Resort 2024” at the prestigious World Ski Awards 2024, the most prestigious award in the global ski tourism industry. This marks Rusutsu Resort’s fifth win, following awards in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021, making it the first ski resort in Japan to achieve this honour five times.

The World Ski Awards

The World Ski Awards (based in London, UK) is part of the “World Travel Awards,” which is often referred to as the Oscars of the travel industry and is one of the highest honours in the world of ski tourism. Awards are given in various categories to ski resorts, hotels, travel agencies worldwide.

Following the announcement of nominees in June 2024, voting was open until October 11, 2024. Votes were cast online by ski industry professionals, including media and travel agencies, as well as by the general public. Thanks to this support, Rusutsu Resort earned the top honour in its category.
