Yotei Panorama Terrace, located at the summit of West Mt., welcomes exciting new attractions including a giant “RUSUTSU” photo spot and a panoramic photo frame. In addition, the food truck café “SORIOI Mountain Café” will open on 18/07/2026 (Sat.).

Located at an elevation of 715 meters, Yotei Panorama Terrace is one of Rusutsu Resort’s signature scenic viewpoints. From here, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of Mt. Yotei—known as the “Ezo Fuji”—Mt. Shiribetsu, and the majestic mountains of Shikotsu-Toya National Park.

Mt. Yotei is known in the Ainu language as Machineshiri (“Female Mountain”), while Mt. Shiribetsu, located beyond Mt. Sorioi, is called Pinneshiri (“Male Mountain”). Together, they have long been cherished as the “Married Mountains.” According to Ainu mythology, Mt. Yotei is believed to be the first land created by the gods, from which Hokkaido was born.

Mt. Sorioi (West Mt.), where Yotei Panorama Terrace is located, is considered in feng shui to be the “dragon’s head,” where powerful energy lines converge. It is known as an auspicious spot believed to bring vitality and prosperity.

Along with enhanced photo opportunities set against breathtaking scenery, visitors can now relax at a new summit café offering drinks and light meals. More than just a scenic viewpoint, the summit now offers the pleasures of photography, dining, and relaxation, making every moment even more memorable.

A new symbol of Yotei Panorama Terrace, the giant photo frame measures 5 meters wide and 2.6 meters high. Looking through the frame, Mt. Yotei appears like a magnificent painting. The ever-changing scenery throughout the seasons and day creates unforgettable travel memories.

The “RUSUTSU” Photo Spot You’ll Want to Share

A giant white “RUSUTSU” photo spot has been installed at a viewpoint overlooking the entire resort. Peek through the letters or sit on the “U” to create fun and unique photos. Stretching 10 meters wide, it is the perfect spot for family photos and social media posts.

Front-Row Seats to the View Beneath the Trees

New benches have been placed beneath the shade of white birch trees, allowing guests to relax while admiring the magnificent landscape. Designed with soft materials for extra comfort, they are ideal for a break during a stroll while enjoying the refreshing mountain breeze.
