Rusutsu Resort is gradually preparing for winter, with the amusement park closing on Sunday, October 16, 2022, and the hotel will close on Sunday, October 22, 2022. It was cold last night and snow were piling up at Nakayama mountain pass and Mt. Yotei.

This is a shot of “Michi no Eki Boyou Nakayama” between Sapporo and Rusutsu this morning. Nakayamatoge ski area, Rusutsu’s brother ski slope, is located at an altitude of 835 meters, so last night’s cold air turned the whole area completely white.

It is the first time in a long time to shovel snow. Unlike in January, the snow at this time of year is heavy and sticky, making the work very difficult. It is time to change your summer tires to winter tires.

This is a shot in front of Rusutsu Resort. The altitude of this area is about 400 meters, so there’s no snow on the roads. But take a look in the back right of the photo, there the peak of Mt. Shiribetsu is slightly white.

The weather forecast shows that temperatures will continue to rise and fall. Once it rains, it will get colder and colder, and ski season is approaching!
