The Accommodation Tax (Effective from April 2026)
Starting April 1, 2026, the “Hokkaido Accommodation Tax” and the “Rusutsu Village Accommodation Tax” will be applied to all staying guests. The accommodation tax is intended to help cover the costs of measures aimed at promoting tourism, such as enhancing the added value of tourism and improving systems for welcoming travelers.
[Accommodation Tax Amount]
For both adults and children, the following tax amounts will be charged per person per night depending on the accommodation fee as the below.
– Accommodation fee less than 20,000 JPY
200 JPY (Rusutsu Village Accommodation Tax: 100 JPY / Hokkaido Accommodation Tax: 100 JPY)
– Accommodation fee between 20,000 JPY and less than 50,000 JPY
400 JPY (Rusutsu Village: 200JPY / Hokkaido: 200 JPY)
– Accommodation fee 50,000 JPY or more
1,000 JPY (Rusutsu Village: 500 JPY / Hokkaido: 500 JPY)

– The “accommodation fee” refers to the room-only rate, including service charges, but excluding meal fees, consumption tax, etc.
– The accommodation tax is not included in the room plan prices shown on the website. Please pay the tax at the hotel front desk on the day of your stay.
– The tax applies to all stays from April 2026 onward, regardless of the reservation application date.
