What is Snow Skate?
Snow skating is a sport structured with a single board attached beneath a skateboard deck (board), ridden without fixing the feet with bindings like a snowboard—similar to a “skateboard that glides on snow.” There are several types, but all share the characteristic of high freedom of movement because the feet are not fixed to the board. It can be enjoyed especially at the beginning of the season in December when snowfall is light, as well as in the spring season, and in recent years the number of ski areas in Japan where it is permitted has been increasing.
