The Westin Rusutsu Resort (General Manager Hidenori Tsuda) was awarded the prestigious award for “Japan’s Best Ski Hotel 2022”, award on 18th, November 2022, at the World Ski Awards 2022 ceremony, the most prestigious awards in the global ski tourism industry.

Upon opening, The Westin Rusutsu Resort was first awarded ‘World’s Best New Ski Hotel 2016’ this prestigious award was then followed by three consecutive triumphs in the category of ‘Japan’s Best Ski Hotel’ in 2017, 2018 and 2019. This latest award marks the hotel’s 5th triumph at the World Ski Award since opening in June 2016.

The World Ski Awards (Secretariat: London, UK) are the most prestigious awards in the global ski tourism industry and are part of the World Travel Awards, regarded as the Oscars of the travel industry. The awards are presented to ski resorts, ski hotels and ski tour operators in 25 countries around the world, with a multitude of distinctive categories.

Nominations were announced on 14 June 2022, with the winners announced after a selection process involving ski industry experts (media, travel agencies, etc.) and internet voting from the general public. In previous years, the prestigious awards ceremony was held in Kitzbühel, Austria, an internationally renowned winter sports destination. However, for 2022 the awards were announced online.
