Rusutsu’s free shuttle bus service departs from central Sapporo and is ideal for a winter 1-day trip.
Driving on snowy roads can be a cause for concern, especially on powder days with bad visibility and heavy snow. For guests without a car or concerned with winter driving we recommend trying our free daily bus service. This service departs daily from central Sapporo (2 minutes’ walk from Sapporo Station South Exit). Sit back and enjoy a relaxing 120 minutes journey to the resort. (For 2020-21 COVID-19 measures are in-place for Rusutsu Go service)

The ‘Rusutsu Go’ shuttle bus departs central Sapporo at 08:00, arriving at Rusutsu Resort around 10:00 after a short break at the Naka Yama Pass service station. In the evening the service departs Rusutsu Resort at 17:00 (16:50 from the Westin Hotel) allowing guests around 7 hours to enjoy the resort. A 6-hour lift ticket is recommended allowing for time to dress and access the mountain. Please remember the Rusutsu ski area is vast with 3 mountains and 37 unique courses. It’s still possible to enjoy fresh powder and perfect grooming even if you start at 10:00.
Also for returning customer, save time and money by recharging your old IC lift ticket via the website to gain direct access to the lifts without lining up at the ticket office. For new guests we recommend holding onto your IC lift ticket so you can recharge it for your next visit.
Recommended : 4 Hour Lift Ticket + Hot Spring Ticket
For guest looking for a more relaxing experience, we recommend purchasing a 4-hour lift ticket. This will allow time for an afternoon visit to the relaxing Kotobuki no Yu Onsen (hot spring) Soak in the rejuvenating open air outside bath with stunning panoramic vistas or enjoy the soothing cave bath, jet bath or sauna.
For guests using the ‘Rusutsu Go’ bus service why not finish the day with a relaxing refreshment. After an Onsen why not finish the day with a beer. Try an original ‘Rusutsu Love Beer’. Rusutsu has a selection of souvenir shops and brand shops perfect for shopping memorable, unique souvenirs.

Easy and convenient even for families with young children
The ‘Rusutsu Go’ bus arrives at the base of West Mt. This mountain features the White Lover and Family courses, perfect for novices to practise. Also located on West Mt is the Crayon Shin-chan Cross, tree run and Hiroba areas which are sure to be a big hit with kids looking to ski or try fun winter activities such as sledding. Course Guide and Lift Operation
For parents wishing to explore the mountain why not take advantage of the Rusutsu Nursery School which is conveniently located in the resort. Experienced nursery teachers will take excellent care of children in a spacious comfortable facility. This service is charged at a set hourly rate and is also popular with Rusutsu staff on days off.
Every Sunday (January 17th –March 28th) Rusutsu will host a special winter sports day event which is fun for both kids and adults. Participation is free and there are a number of great prizes to be won including; lift tickets, amusement park tickets, meal vouchers and more. All participants will receive a gift! This is a fun event where everyone is welcome to join to promote a healthy lifestyle and boost immunity.
The Afternoon Tea set is highly recommended
New for winter 2020-21 an ‘Afternoon Tea Set’ is now available daily at the All Day Dining Atrium in The Westin Rusutsu Resort. This set includes a choice of coffee or tea, with deserts and a quiche made from locally sourced Hokkaido ingredients. This is the perfect place for non-skiing/snowboarding guests to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. Also with this set guests can enjoy the rejuvenating Westin Rusutsu Onsen (hot spring) located in the same building.
