Enjoy Fresh Asparagus Grown at the Foot of Mt. Yotei in Rusutsu!
The season of delicious asparagus has arrived at Rusutsu Resort!
Why is the asparagus from our own farm, Rusutsu Farm, so delicious?
The farm at the foot of Yotei Mountain which is known as the famous water source of Hokkaido, the soil is rich in calcium, the temperature difference between day and night and the clean air, and the asparagus is grown not in greenhouses but in the open fields with plenty of sunlight, which means that the asparagus is rich in nutrients.
Not only does it contain high levels of “asparagus acid,” which is said to relieve fatigue, promote liver function, and increase stamina, but it also contains plenty of vitamins C, E, B1, B2, potassium, and other minerals, making it not only very sweet but also a special taste with a hint of savory flavor.
In this blog, we will introduce a gourmet fair and activity experience unique to Rusutsu Resort, where you can enjoy such delicious seasonal asparagus.
June only! Hokkaido Asparagus Fair is coming!
From June 1 to June 30, Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention and The Westin Rusutsu Resort Hotel will be holding the “Hokkaido Asparagus Fair” featuring fresh asparagus harvested at Rusutsu Farm and nearby Mount Yotei.
Each restaurant will be offering a variety of dishes designed to enhance the taste of seasonal asparagus, so you can enjoy your stay with us while comparing various dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Asparagus Harvesting & Pizza Making
From 5/27 to 6/18 , we will offer a limited-time asparagus harvesting experience and pizza making. Visitors will be able to harvest freshly asparagus at the Rusutsu Farm, and make their own handmade pizza on the spot, which will be baked and served.
This experience menu, available only during this season, will surely be a special memory for you, as you can taste the fresh asparagus pizza that you have prepared yourself, from harvesting to baking, right in the field!

If you are staying in Sapporo, you can come to the resort to experience and taste the food by taking the free “Rusutsu-Go” bus that leaves at 8:00 on the same day. Please note that reservations for the bus must be made by 3 p.m. the day before departure.
